Repairs include new fill material to replace scaled, damaged, or fallen fill. Hanging fill is notorious for sagging and falling due to age, collective weight of scale, and weight from ice in freezing conditions. New fill material restores and/or enhances the capacity of an existing unit. Additionally, new fill material will facilitate the cleaning of the cold water basins as it can be elevated off of the basin, providing room between the bottom of the fill and the basin floor.
Scaled, collapsing, or damaged fill material has a significant impact on cooling tower efficiency, prohibiting effective heat transfer. Additionally, defective drift eliminators or air inlet louvers hinder airflow, further impeding efficient unit performance and capacity and contribute to excessive water waste.
